LADIES CLL'B A very pleasant afternoon was spent last Wednesday at the Bowling green when a progressive pairs tournament was held, the occasion being the closing of the 1041-42 bowling season. Members of the Croquet Club and honorary members were pres--1 ent. Mrs Kemp (vice-president) presented' prizes to the following • winners of the afternoon games:— Ist Mrs King (s), Mrs Tyrell (lead); Runners-up: Mrs Aimers (s), Mrs S. Hamilton (lead); Consolation prizes: Mrs Smith (s), Mrs Arnott (lead). During the afternoon tea adjournment Mrs Aimers (vice-pres.) presented the trophies won during the season to the following players:— Championship Singles: Mrs G. Hannay; Runner-up: Mrs W. Hewitt. Handicap Singles Rose bowl (and plaque donated by Mrs Hannay): Mrs Kemp; Runner-up: Mrs Hannay, a silver button donated by Mrs Mazengarb.

Despite the atrocious weather of Saturday last the Alexandra Bowling Club held their ; official closing, this occasion in the form of a progressive Euchre tournament- At the close of play the President, Mr E.
