BUTCHER'S CREEK DAM.

TO COMMENCE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Mr W. A. Bodkin, M.P., has received the following letter from the Minister of Public Works: "I have pleasure in advising you that the representations you made to

me recently regarding an extension of the Last Chance Irrigation Scheme, by the construction of a dam in Butcher's Creek, have been investigated, and as a result, I to-day submitted to Cabinet a recommendation that the suggested dam in Butcher's Creek be proceeded with. This recommendation has received Cabinet's approval and arrangements will now be made to put the work in hand as soon as possible."
