WILLS MONEY TO POOR. The death of Princess Eniine, widow of Tcwfik Pasha, Khedive of Egypt, is deeply mourned in Istanbul, where she spent half of each year. Princess l-Jmine was nearly 90 years of age, but was in good health until a few
weeks ago, , Possessed of great wealth, the I rni-ce-ss liked to surround herself with a certain' amount of pomp and circumstance, and was always attended by a large suite. During the last twenty years she divided her time between Cairo and Istanbul. She used to charter a steamer to convey her from Alexandria, and the dining room was converted into a bedroom, as she hated small room's. .She never sjept in a bed, hut had cushions and mattresses strewn on the door. She owned a lovely house, at Belielc, on the edge of the Bosphorua, with beautiful grounds adjoining, and gave unusually largo sums to poor Turks and others living near. It is said that her will makes provision for some of her proteges to receive annuities for life. llor fortune is estimated around £4,4(10,00(1, of which something like El 100,000 consists of jewellery. 1t,.,- eldest son, Abbns Ililmi I'asha, syaskhedive of Egypt until 1014, when lie was exiled on account of his alleged anti-British activities, Keeeutly, Alilims came to :i friendly arrangement with the Egyptian Government whereby the hitter granted him a handsome life income in exchange for Abbas'a promise not to return to Egypt, and to, renounce all his claims to the throne. Abbas was not P4 friendly terms with his mother, but hastened to Istanbul after her death, and accompanied her body on a steamer as far as Greece. Other nierabers of her family present were her son, Prince Malunecl Ali pasha, and daughter, Princess Hatijc.
