MANIOTOTO HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting, of the above committee was held on Monday, May 5, and was attended by. Messrs 11. W. Davis (chairman), W. Smith, F- Field, Jas. Smith, T. C. Ilore and J. M'Millan.

Moved by Mr Here, seconded by Mr Field.and carried, "that Nurse Ityan's salary be discontinued fro'm April 1, and the he placed on the Accident Insurance" (Nurse fell in one of the corridors recently and sustained concussion of the brain). Nurse Campbell, Cromwell, and Nurse M, Creig, Akaroa, applied for positions on the maternity staff, and the applications were accepted. The Chief Electrical Engineer, Wellington, wrote that Mr Spry would be in the district shortly, and would inspect the hospital electric lines. The rest of the correspondence was formal. The Doctor forwarded returns for March, and April. During .March 20 patients were treated, being 11 males and 15 females. Of these six males (including one death) were discharged and ten females, leaving five of each sex under treatment.

During April eight males and 11 females were treated, making a total of 19. The discharges were five males and seven females, leaving three and four respectively under treatment. Six babies were born in the hospital during the month.—Received on the motion of Messrs J. Smith and Hore. _ On the motion of Messrs Hore and W.
