ROXBURGH NOTES.

(From Our Own, Correspondent.) Weather. Beautiful weather lias prevailed all the -week and though there has been sharp frosts' each morning the days have been brig-lit and sunny, Teviot Fruitgrowers' Association. The monthly meeting of the association waV held, on May 27, Mr Gllniour presiding"over a" fair attendance of members. The principal business was the consideration *f the remits for the Provincial Conference at Dunedin on June 5. It was quite impossible in a short time to deal with the large number of remits sent forward, but those having direct reference to matters in which Otago is interested were discussed. However, no direction, was given the delegates who have a free' hand at,the conference, Messrs Gilmour, George, VYaigth and Kinaston were appointed delegates. The secretary was instructed to communicate with the manufacturers of mortegg and sodium tieuride and entleavoiir to arrange for supplies for next season. The former has been tried with remarkable success as a remedy for red mite and the latter for earwigs. It was also decided to endeavour to arrange for a visit from Messrs Tennent and Dallas, of-the Agricultural Department and arrange for an address, on the manuring of orchards. Recently Mr Tennent mot the members of the Irrigators League of Roxburgh East and gave a very interesting lecture on manures as pertain to the farm. Personal. Mr H. Fawcett, M.A., rector of the local school, has been appointed rector at Milton and takes up his duties in July. During the short time he has been here he lias/ proved himself an excellent headmaster. Beth inside and outside of the school he has taken deep interest and his departure is regretted by everyone. ■'•-'■
