BOOKS UNDER REVIEW™ 5 That efficiency in business is becoming more than ever a necessity is f unrealised by every astute business man, and numerous books, from the pens of Aha experts, are now on the. market jtfKJor the information of those who have 9 the.wisdom to study them. The business man who realises that he can always learn something will assuredly gain knowledge, and if he is able to apply it will forge ahead of his opponents who believe they know all about the game. We must all quarry wisdom from the mines of experience, but the man who sharpens his pick with the whetstone that has helped his suceessjj"< brother will lighten his own labor. YVhen successful men go to the trouble of putting the secret of their success in books for the help of others, those others are more than foolish if they do not make use of the information imparted. The two books under review are both from the Cornstalk Publishing Company's press, my copies having been received through the courtesy ol Angus and Robertson, Sydney. The printing and binding are excellent, and the price in each case is 6s. • Better Business Letters.' by G'asson. Mr Casson understands his subject thoroughly and presents it' to his reader in a very interesting manner. ' The business man who reads this book cannot fail '.a be convinced that he has acquired a long-felt want, and if he fails to profit by the lesson he should not be in business. 'Forging Ahead,' by A. O. Richardson. This book may be said to be an inspiration. The writer's cheery optimism and pithy comments drive his lesson home in a way that days of arduous study would fail to do. Every phase of a business man's life is touched upon, and the writer'.- comments inspire the reader with the desire to forge ahead to higher things.
