" ARRAN CHIEF" is the finest late potato grown—a big statement to make, but facts beat this out Head what the Glasgow "Evening Citizen '" of the 'Jth December, 1913, says:— " Never in the history of Potato growing in Scotland lias a new " variety established at so early a period such a remarkable series .fot triumplvs. Among its many records are (1) the highest price "by the acre when green in July—viz., £lOl per acre; (2) the " highast price per aere of Potatoes still to dig during Oetobcr, of "£lO2 per acre; and (3) the championship for the heaviest live " acres of any variety in Dundee district, wiih tons per acre "of grand iinality." DESCRIPTION—" Arran Chief "is a late variety, giving abundance of cover, grows very strong in the haulm, and produces a fine quantity of large sized tubers to the root. Quality is first class, and it will keep in good condition to the end of the season. It scarcely shows bloom, and is quite distinct from other varieties. This fine Potato is strongly recommended as being suitable for ALL classes of land. As compared with other sorts " Arran Chief " has this year yielded far and away above other well-known potatoes, while the exceptional quality of the tubers resulted in better prices being obtained for "Arran Chief than for other table varieties.
