Obituary.
We regret to chronicle the death of ono of the oldest residents of the Bald Hill Flat district, in the person of Andrew Mitchell, which occurred on Thursday morning last. Coming to Bald Hill Flat over 30 years a«o deceased with his brother took up a claim, and up till the day of his death had followed the occupation of a miner lie was a man of genial disposition" and was greatly respected by all who knew him. The cause of death was senile decay, but of late years he was troubled with chest complaint. During his long residence in Bald Hill Flat he attended every funeral from that district, and always made it a practice of walking to and from Alexandra whenever he had occasion to visit that town, lhe deceased gentleman was a bachelor, and at. the time of his death was 71 years of age, With his demise another link in the chain is broken gradually diminishing our .longest of pioneer settlers. The funeral.' took place on Saturday last, when. i : concourse of mourners followecl'-%f& remains to the last resting.place; the Rev. Mr Mackie conducting the burial service. To his relatives we extend our deepest condolence in their sad bereavement,
