ANOTHER Dunedin Proof.
A DECISIVE NARRATIVE. Ttio Oaao of Mr. W. SMITHi (8T A UXJkI RBFOBTBB.) Here is a tip that may be found useful to many, if they care to consult their own safety and comfort. It is given by Mr. William Smith, of Main Road, North Salt Valley, Duncdin, who said to our reporter i—• "To anybody whose health fa broken down I cannot do anything better than recommend them to take some Clements Tonic, as I found it to be a first-rate medicine when I was suffering from debility two years ago." "How long had yon been ailing?" inquired the press representative. " Fully twelve months," was the reply, " and a bad time I had of it, too. It was after a very severe attack of influenza that I was left in such a poor state of health that I did not have enough energy to do anything scarcely. The most distressing feelings of languidness were in attendance every day, the result of which was that I had no desire Cor work, and it was even too much trouble to do anything by way of recreation. My spirits also became very depressed, bat such was not to be wondered at considering that my vitality was sn very low. This state of weakness would probably not have continued bo long if my appetite had only been better, and if the food I took had nourished me more than, it did ; but those seamed to bo my two greatest difficulties."
" Your digestion «u evidently in a bod way ? "
"Of that there was no doubt whatever, as I suffered terribly with flatulence after taking food, and in the chest there was a feeling of oppression as if the food had formed into a lu-.np. Under my shoulder blades there existed a pain that was very tantalising, and besides being intensely dull and drowsy I had headaches that made things all the more unpleasant for me. A peculiar feature of my sickness was that I used to get restless when I ought to have been sleeping, as if my weariness during tin; day bad: turned to an unnatural state of activity at nights for the purpose of depriving me of the sleep that was so muoh required; and, of course, such a state of things only conduced to intensify the exhausted condition that I was in. Bearing the brunt of these adversities had the effect of considerably weakening mjr nervous system, and in regard to this matter I can speak well of Clements Tonic, as its nervetoning influences could not have been improved upon./ The disordered condition of my internal organs was demonstrated by the hitter taste I used to have in the mornings, and I was well-pleased with Clements Tonic when that unpleasantness was done avmy with, for then I could enjoy my food better, as, in addition to its cleansing qualities, it gave me a splendid appetite, and when I started eating well it was not long before my vigor was on the increase." "Had you not taken any other medicine before using Clements Tonic ? " "I had taken several kinds of physics, but not one of them was near as good as Clements Tonic, because it benefited my system right throughout. Indigestion seems to be such a common complaint that I think it should be known to all who suffer from it that there is a medicine within their reach which can gain the upper hand over their ailments, and it is for this reason solely that I speak of the advantages I gained by using Cloments Tonic, which stopped the food from fermenting, and thus relieved me of the pains arising from flatulence. With a further use of that valuable remedy my digestive organs were thoroughly repaired, and it Was really remarkable what an invigorating effect Clements Tonic had upon me. The old feelings of drowsiness and depression were put aside, and for removing headaches and the other inconveniences I had endured for twelve months, Clements Tonio added me to its lists of advocates, for I shall never neglect to advise those in need of medicinal help to adopt the same course that lifted me out of the unhappy state I was in." *.' Perhaps it would be just as well to make your recommendation in a public way ? " "I think that would be the best tiling to do, for then my experience could be brought under the notice of so many people that I am not acquainted with, therefore you may publish all I've said in any way you deem fit." STATUTORY DECLARATION. I, WitLiAU Smith, of Main Road, North East Valley, Dunedin, in the Colony of New Zealand, do solemnly and sincerely declare that I have carefully read the annexed document, consisting of two folios, and consaoutirely numbered from one to two, and that contains and is a true and faithful account of mj illness and cure by Clements Tonic, and also contains my full permission to publish in any way my statement* which I give voluntarily, without receiving any payment; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "Xhs Justices ot Peace Act, 1882." Declared at North East Valley, Dunedin, this twelfth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and throe, before me, GEORGE CALDER, J.P.
