pWdr to from Alexandra, Mr D Oallaghan was entertained at a farewell eraoke concert in the A R V bers of the Alexandra^Brass Band. After the visual loyal -jipast had. beefi honoured, /Bandmaster Brlhgans, in proposing the toast of the <:Guest of the Evening,' paid a flattering, tribute to the excellent services rendered to the Band by Bandsman 'Oallaghan;' and to the high esteem in whicHKhe was held by the members of the Band and the community generally..-. They-j all wished him every success in his new sphere of labour. Mr Oallaghan suitably responded. Other toasts were honoured as follows:— U New and Rer turned Members," "Music," "Volunteers," ••Orchestra," "Dredging," "Fire Brigade," "The Bandmaster," " The Ladies," "The Press," and "The Visitors." During the evening songs were contributed by Messrs Murphy, Smith, Oampbell, Byrne, Sinclair, Poppelwell, Paul, and Bringans, while Mr Briasco played a violin solo. - . The singing of "Auld Lang Syne " brought a very enjoyable evening to a close. ~"-a : ' ' ',■ ■
