Mr F. Williams has be-n appointed dredgemaster of the Chicago Co.'s dredge. The directors of the Electric Gold Dredging Company have declared a dividend (the twenty-third) of 3s per share, payable on Tuesday, March 1. The Perseverance Co.'s dredges ' must be regarded as among the most consistent of gold winners on the river. The directors were last Saturday enabled to dec'are another dividend of 2s per shire (which amounts to £1400), payable on Saturday - next. This makes 25s per share returned in dividends, equal to £17,500. J j-" The work of fitting-up a centrifugal elevator on the Alexandra Lead dredge jg still proceeding. It is expected the dredge will be r-**dy to resume work in about a fortnight's time The New Vincent dredge was sold by public auction at Dunedin on Friday last for £165. Captain SundStrom was the purchaser. Owing to the breaking away of the Borough race, which supplies the Molyneux Hydraulic Oa's' paddock with water, the dredge is still idle. Should the river remain at its present level, the Sailors Bend and First Chance dredges will commence dredging at midnight on Sunday. It may be added that the river is unusually low for this time of year. The Manuherikia dredge resumed work yesterday morning.
