Martyn Hagan Comedy Company

The above tilented company appeared at the Alexandra town hall, on the 11th, 12th, and 16th inst., in each case before a large audience, who were demonstrative in their applause ot the many excellent items in the well-filled programme. Mr Martyn Hagan, in his various parts, kept the audience in roars of laughter, and it is no mere flattery to say that he is about the best comedian who has yet appeared on the goldfields. Miss Lucy Fraser quite captivated her audience With her beautiful singing, and the singing of little Victor (" the Canary ") was also a very pleasing feature of the performance. The efforts of Mr Jack Hagan (comic singer) and Mr Will Orompton were also much appreciated, and Miss Woodland's singing was also of a high order of merit. A noticeable feature of the entertainment was, that while it was intensely .mirth-provoking, there was an entire absence of anything approaching vulgarity. It is indeed a clean, clever and enlivening show, and the company provides a treat that is seldom offered to country play-goers. Should the company again come this way, we feel safe in saying that tbey will be accorded a hearty welcome.
