The Pope and Divorce.
Rome, December 13. A prelate of high dignity says that the facta and statistics obtained from the symposium on divorce in an American syndicate newspaper will be used freely by the Catholic Press of Italy in its campaign against Premier Zanardelli'ai Divorceßill.' ' ' **j -Not in thirty years have the people pf Italy been so aroused as they "are by, the Divorce Bill now being debated in Parliament. " Meetings' of protest are everywhere being held, and many members of Parliament who intended voting for the Bill have changed"their minds because their constituents"declare they will not re-elect them. Pope Leo is the most active of the opponents of the Bill. :/ "It is an outrage oh Catholic Ita'y,"the Pope exclaimed 'whetftold that the .Government intended to force the passage of? the Bill.
