The ram at the beginning of the week caused the river to rise about three inches. The height at the Alexandra bridge last evening was Bft above the " normal" mark. The Perseverance No. 1 dredg" washed up yesterday for 66$oz. The MoaNo. 2 dredge is steadily. The dredge will only stop for one day this week (to day). With the exception of the Moa No. 2 atiH Pers verance No. 1, all the dredges about Alexandra have shut down for the holidays. Necessary repair* are being effected in the meantime The Molyneux Hydraulic dredge is undergoing an overhaul, and will resume work about the middle of next week. The Fourteen-mile Beach Company invite tenders for the removal of the Main Lead Hercules dredge from her present position and re-erecting the same on the Fourteen-mile Beach claim. ... , '- The New Royal Maori Company are instituting proceedings against the Point d'Or Company, claiming damages for alleged trespass by the latter company's dredge, and for depositing tailings on the Royal Maori claim. At a meeting of directors of the Perseverance Dredging Company held last Saturday evening, a dividend (the 14th) of one shilling per share was declared. This makes 20s per share returned to shareholders in dividends.
