the north side of the Rangitikei river, that is, - opposite the Awahou Pa, in such places as may not be shortly settled upon by Europeans, are retainable as cultivations for the natives for three years; at the expiration of which time all these cultivations shall be abandoned by the natives, and given up to the Europeans.
