September, this letter written on the 10th [1848] Come, my letter, go off to McLean and Captain King. This is my [message] to you both, that is, I suggest you come about the building of a mill for me. It is up to you two to agree to my having a water mill. We have met in committee about it and that is why I write to you to hasten [the construction of it], this year. Don't delay, be quick about it, now. All the people have agreed, and so I am justified in saying to you to come here and build my mill. Don't turn a deaf ear to my voice but hear it, because it is right what I am reporting to you. That is all I have to say to you. This letter is from me, from your good friend, Watitiri, to McLeanand Captain King. This concludes it. 1848 [Note following] From Hurangi to McLean and Captain King at Otamakihi.
