July last, conveying to me His Excellency the Lieut. Governor's approval of my proceedings in adjusting the Land Question at Wanganui. I shall be much obliged by your apprising His Excellency of my great satisfaction at receiving so flattering an approval of my services in that affair. And I beg you to accept my acknowledgements for the handsome manner in which you have communicated His Excellency's sentiments.
