Letter from Donald McLean to the Hon. the Colonial Secretary dated 20th. September 1848 New Plymouth September 20th. 1848 Sir, I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 31st. July last, conveying to me His Excellency the Lieut. Governor's approval of my proceedings in adjusting the Land Question at Wanganui. I shall be much obliged by your apprising His Excellency of my great satisfaction at receiving so flattering an approval of my services in that affair. And I beg you to accept my acknowledgements for the handsome manner in which you have communicated His Excellency's sentiments.
