5 November 1862 My dear Donald We finished the drafting yesterday and if the wash pool will be ready in time we will wash tommorrow. Alexander sayes that we may commence to shear on Saturday as there is only 6 1/2 barrs of soap at the station and having all white men they will likely want a barr of soap the piece so that it would be well to get a box of the Liverpool soap large barrs that we sell here for 2/6 each. You know the size yourself. There is 2 of the shearers cutting the hay and things are going on very well here at preasant. Alex is all right. I send you by the mail man Mr Campbell's book and purse but we could not find any other pocket book of his. Hoping you are all well. I remain in haste your affectionate brother Archibald John McLean
