District Grand Lodge, Wellington-

The installation of W. Bro. Francis Arkwright, P.M., P.D.G. Steward, as R.W. District Grand Master, took place at the Maaonio Hall, Wanganui, yedterdiy afternoon, the occasion boing celebrated by a very largo concourse of tho fraternity. Tho members of Tongariro Lodge assembled at 5 pm. tho lodge being opened by the W M., Bro J. Decimus Tripo, Senior District G W , the following officers of the Lodge b?ing also present : — Bros. District Grand Master, was carried out in a moat impreßßivo and able mannor by W. Bro. Sir E. Osborne Gibbes, Bart , D.D.G.M, after which the brethern adjourned to the banquetting hall, which had been artistically decorated under the supervision of Bro. Brandon. Tho menu provided by Bro. W. S. Dustin was such u.s reflected in the highest manner on this most capable of catorers, and the most flittering commentß were pnßsed on the completeness of tho table appointments, etc. The W.M. of tho Tongariro Lodge, Bro. J. D. Tripe, W.O.GS.W., presided in his usual genial and capable mannor, and the result waß a thoroughly enjoyable evoning. Tho toast liet iachicied' — Tho Queen and the Craft, H.8.T1. tho Priuco of Wales, our M.W.G.^I., Grand Lodges o£ Scotland und Ireland, the novsly-installed D.G.M., the Installing Officer, Daughter Lodges, the Tongariro Lodgo (proposed by Bro. Arkwright, R.W.D.9.M.), Visitors, and tho customary Tyler's toast Bro. H. B. Williamson, P.M., acted in his usual courteous and ablo manner as master of cercmoniep, and Bro. H. Brooke, in organising such an excellent programme of songs, etc., contributed greatly to the harmony and goneral enjoyment. Taken altogether, tho ceremony and its attendant oelobration was highly successful, and particularly well conducted, and mention should be particularly made of tho musical portion of the proceedings in Lodgo, which wero contributed by Bros. M. Cohen, W. Foster, nnd W. Piuehos, tho accompaniments beiug played bj Bros Blackett and Brooke.
