Its is wvtih regret that we have to recordr the death of Mr Alfred Henry Pui'nell, which occurred, at hils late residence pa June 19th, after a> long and painful iilnesi, at the age of 59. T£j,e deceased was 'born in London, ■February, 1849. He tame to the colonies in the year 1856, landing in New Pflyinaoutlhi vrliM his parents. There ti*e wlitineesed the stirring incidents that oociura-ed in connection with the Taranaki War, but took no active part in the same. In 1&74 he came to Thames amdi 'carriedl on the occupation, of a miner until some 18 years ago, whan ho 'met with a very sarioutei accident, his leg, being crushed and back injured, whSoh necessitated his abstention tframi bard work: HEs wife entered into ibusinesfe din Miairy street, wihiich he Was aisfeiiisted her in carrying on ito< ithe -preseiiit time. Det ceased <was a goad' ditizon, and leave* a widow, one son and daughter, three brotlhers and tihreei sisters, to mourn their less. Deceased was a member of the ißechalbiite Ordbr.
