The ' Luna' will have ample accommodation for 750 passengers, and it is the intention of the projectors to make her all to be desired by the travelling public between Auckland and the Thames. The projectors have taken £2,000 in the venture^ leaving 400 shares to be offered to the public, the remaining £8,500 already raised by mortgage, at eight per cent. Thbre is little doubt that the increasing value of the aharei, and ths great profits when running, will soon enable to Compacy to pay off the mortgage. A deposit of £2 10a. on eac a are taken to be paid to the credit of the Auckland and Thames Steam Navigation Company (Limited), Bank of New South Wales, Auckland, the remaining £2 10s. on the arrival of the boat at the Thames, vhen the shares will be allotted, and the Company formed. HER Majesty the Queen having been graciously pleased to extend to the Colonial Forces the grant of the Decoration conferred for the War in New Zealand, and the Government having taken steps to receive the Medal>, applications ia accordance with the rngulatiom hereafter set forth will be received at the Colonial Defence Office, Wellington, from persons entitled to receive the Medal. Regulations. The medal will be given to all persons, whether belonging to the local forces or loyal native tribec, who during the war in New Zealand were actually under fire in any engagement with tbe enemy, or were otherwise conspicuous for distinguished service in the field. It will also be given to the nearest relation of those who were killed iu action or died from wound*. The application must set forth the name and date of the action or service on which the claim is founded, and specify the nainei in full of the applicant, hi« regimaatal number and rank, and that of the corps to which he belonged, together with the name of hu immediate commanding officer and thai; of the officer commanding in the engagement. Applications from tbe relations of persons killed in action or Trho died from wounds must be accompanied by a statutory declaration showing the nature of the relationship and claim. The medal will not be given to any person who, since the occurrence of tho service on which a claim might be founded, has done anything unworthy of a soldier.
