Doherty won the Open Singles at Monte Carlo and Nice, beating Eitchie. at the former and E. B. Allen at the latter. At Cannes H. L. Doherty and Eitchie came . their respective halves, and in the final the latter was given a walk-over. . __ In the Men's Doubles H. L. «md E. P. Doherty -won at all three meeting*. At Mont* Car'o they met the Allen brothers in the final, and won 7-5. 6-2, 9-7. The Ladies' Championship at 4JI three meetings looked a soft thing for Miss D. K. Wilson won twn championships, beating ".Mrs Adams" (CounteßS Schulenberg), the best German lady player^ In the Handicap Singles E. P. Doherty (owe 15-1) won after, conceding :long starts to many players. He met K. Sanderson (lis-4); the Scotch pl»ver, in the final, and- beat him 7-5, &;6, thereby winning the diamond and sapphire scarf -phi presented by the Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The brothers also Brained troohies valued at 1000 francs on beating the Allen brothers in the Championship Doubles at Monte Carlo.
