: . : : NOTES. : (By VOLLEY.) The tournament for 'children attending the Christohuroh city and suburban schools wa» obmmenced at the Cranmer Square courts oh Saturday morning last. The Ladies' Championship at 4JI three meetings looked a soft thing for Miss D. K. Wilson won twn championships, beating ".Mrs Adams" (CounteßS Schulenberg), the best German lady player^ In the Handicap Singles E. P. Doherty (owe 15-1) won after, conceding :long starts to many players. He met K. Sanderson (lis-4); the Scotch pl»ver, in the final, and- beat him 7-5, &;6, thereby winning the diamond and sapphire scarf -phi presented by the Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The brothers also Brained troohies valued at 1000 francs on beating the Allen brothers in the Championship Doubles at Monte Carlo.
