His Honour District Judge Haselden arrived in Timaru yesterday, to preside at tlie sitting of the District Court to be held here to-day. Word has heen received by cable from Melbourne of the decease of Mr J. Gardner, formerly and for many years proprietor of the Saltwater Creek telMessrs J. B. Reid and W. H. Quick, have been reappointed directors of the Bank of New Zealand representing the Government-as from March 31st, when their present appointment terminates.
