MR. MAZENGARB'S SUP-
PORTERS
Mr. O. C. Mazengarb, Nationalist candidate for the Wellington East seat, addressed a meeting of friends and supporters in the church hall, Roseneath, last night. Mr. C. Pinnock presided over a gathering which filled the hall.
Mr. Mazengarb defended the Government's actions to counter the effects of the depression, contending that they had not been as severe on wage-earning people as measures which had been adopted by Labour Governments in Australia.
The meeting passed a resolution in support of Mr. Mazengarb's candidature.

MR. D. C. DAVIE CHOSEN
The National Executive of the New Zealand Labour Party has endorsed the candidature of Mr. D. C. Davie,for the Hurunui seat against the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes).
Mr. Davie is president of the Sumner branch of the Labour Party, and had a farm in the Hurunui electorate for many years. He was one of the pioneers of the Douglas Social Credit movement in New Zealand.
