Tlie last meeting of tho Avon Road Board was attended by Messrs Walter f chairman), Cleland, UeashilJ, Parish and Rowe. A motion of regret at tho death of Mr T. I. Joynt, K.C., was adopted, Mr Joynt having served tlie Board as solicitor for the past forty years. Mr H. D. Andrews was appointed solicitor to the Board. A complaint was received that a road nt the Lower Styx had l>eon fenced off, and notice was ordered to lx) sent to the occupier of the land to icmove tho fence. The Papanui Progress Committoo wrote asking the Board to deal with the nuisance caused oy old building- being removed into Hie district from Christchurch. The cie.k was instructed to reply that this was already boing done. It was ag.\>ed to supply •clocking for a bridge on road, those interested to put jt on.
