" The annual elections of Councillors took 'place yesterday. The result for the City Council was as under :—South- West Ward—Dr. Stewart 322, O. D. Light band 167: informal 5. Majority -for - Dr. Stewart 155. - Richmond Ward —H. Y. Wfddowson 100, J. A. Fiesher 70. H, B. Sorensen 18 ; informal 5. Majority for Widdoweon 30. There were ten candidates for the vacancies on the Linwood Council, and Messrs H. Pearce 121-, J. C. Atkinson 100; and John Taylor 94 were elected.

Messrs Stead, Brooker add 'Cooke were elected membere of the St. Albans CounciL

In the Sumner Borough Council, Messrs Carpenter, Graham, and if ill were elected.. The election at Rangiora resulted ac followa:— J. W. Foster 93, G. Cone 78, C. J. Jennings 77, A. B. Shaakland 68. The first three are therefore elected.

The polling at Lyttelton reunited as follows :—Webb 507* Briee 297. Cook 218, Hildyard2ls, Chambers 158, AUwright 112. Informal 9.

(FBSSS ABSOCIAIION XRLBOIUMS). AUCKLAND, September 13. At the Municipal elections Nlra Matson was returned for the borough of Parnell by 90 majority. For Grafton, Mr Wrß. White was returned, the ontgoiog member Mr Powley and Mrs Endean both being deteated.

WELLINGTON, September 13. The Municipal elections created but little interest, and resulted as follows :—TJiorndoa Ward—Mr J, Myers.' Lambton Ward—Mr C. & Williston (re-elected}. Cook WardMr F. H. Fraser (re-elected). Tβ Aro Ward—Mr W. P. Barbour (re-elected). T>UVEDiN, September 13.

The contest in the two .wards of the City excited considerable interest. Cγ. McGregor defeated Mr A. H. Barton by a majority of 134 for High Ward. Mr A. Morrison was elected for JJeil Ward, polling 100 more thau Mr A. S. Adams.
