MORE FINAL ANNOUNCEMENTS "MR. SPEAKER" RETURNED. POPULAR VICTORY IN DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. Sir Charles Statham, Speaker of the House of Representatives, who. left at the week-end for Mount Stuart, was the recipient of many congratulations on his popular victory, so far as Dunedin City as a whole ia concerned, by increasing his majority from 101 on the first count to 262. The Speaker had a comfortable win, and should an alleged irregularity on polling .; day mean another election his majority doubtless will be much larger. . It was not .expected (as was the case three years ago, when absentee votes put Mr. W. B. Taverner in for Dunedin South) that the Dunedin Central votes would go to Labour. The figures show that 370 of these votes were cast for Sir Charles Statham and 216 for Mr. Neilson. • Sir Charles' majority at the last .election was 1771,. when -» he - polled 0022 against \ Labour's 45501." .This tjnie Labour stobd solid, the principal argument being that the constituency cannot be adequately represented by a member who holds the office of Speaker. The electors, however, decided"" otherwise. NO OFFICIAL COMPLAINT. (By Telegraph.—Own, Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. .On inquiry being made* this afternoon it was ascertained that no official complaint of irregularity in a.-voting paper issued in the Dunedin Central electorate had been received by the returning officer and no further action had been taken by Labour supporters.

ROSKILL DOUBTS DISPERSED. ME. RICHARDS ELECTED. The official counts of votes for Roskill, Grey Lynn, Auckland Central, and Waitemata electorates were completed yesterday. For Roskill Mr. A. S. Richards' majority of 171 at the preliminary count has been reduced by two. Of the absentee votes, f Mr. Mulihs polled 211. Mr. Holds worth 180, and Mr. Richards 178, a total of 575. Of the -71 postal votes, Mr. Richards received 25, Mr. Holdsworth 24, and Mr. Munns 22. . Ten seamen's rights we're distributed in the proportion of seven to Mr. Richards and three to Mr. Munns. Declaration votes were as follow: Mr. Holdsworth six, Mr. Richards three, Mr. Munns one. For. the other 'electorates valid absentee, postal, declaration, and seamen's right votes were counted as follows: Grey Lynn 565, Auckla'nd Central 510, Waitemata C 95.
