An instructor was lecturing members of a Volunteer Defence Corps on Bren guns. Some of the V J).C. members were a'bit Hazy about Brens, but were eager to learn. “Smithy” was keenly interested and started the questions. “Can you tell us the main difference between a Bren gun and a f: rifle?” he asked. “Well, I presume you are married,’ ’said the instructor, “so it’s simple.
