“ Long Charles,” formerly an actor, was sent for by the major, who was putting on a concert for the troops. ; . “ Could you do the landlord of an hotel in a play ; I am having?” the major inquired. . “ I’d bte really obliged if you would do so?” “ Too right I could, sir,” “ Long Charles ” retorted. “ I’ve done so many landlords in all. parts of Sydney, that I could do it blindfolded!
