Cleaning out Vienna
The Russians have reached the centre of Vienna, and at least half of the city has been occupied. Soviet troops move from block to block with tanks and tommy-guns cleaning out the enemy. The speed of the Russian advance caught the enemy napping, for the usual demolitions had not been carried out and the civilian evacuation was only partial, The arsenal *was captured and 3,000 of the garrison were killed.
