Second Contingent units begin moving from Aidershot to ports of embarkation. 3 Jan. —.4th Infantry Brigade transport convoy returns to Maadi after carrying 19th Australian Brigade to Fort Capuzzo. 5 Jan. — "Duchess of Bedford" leaves Newport for Belfast with part of Second Contingent. , ' 6 Jan. — Reserve MT Company transports Australian troops from Bardia to vicinity of Tobruk. 7 Jan. — "Athlone Castle” leaves Liverpool for Belfast with rest of Second Contingent. ■ 10 Jan. — Advance Party 4th Infantry Brigade arrives Helwan from estern Desert. . ■ . „ II Jan.— ”T” NZ Patrol LRDG participates in successful raid on Murzuk. 4th Field Regiment returns to Helwan from Western Desert. 12 Jan. Second Contingent leaves
