Museums

The Vatican Mueseums are of course of great importance and so are those collections housed in the Renaissance and other Palaces.

The Museo del Terme, The Museum of Villa Julia, the Galleria Nazionale D’Arte Antica in Roma, Pigorini Museum of Pre-history which contains incidentally a dried Maori head, and the Spada Galleries should be seen. There is also an excellent Museum of Modern Art. A number of military and Church museums are to be found in such places as the Castel S. Angelo and attached to many of the churches. The Capitoline Museum is also important. ■ . - \ f -

At Ostia ,is a good local museum at the excavations;

Ostia, it will be remembered, was the ancient port of Rome and lay originally at the mouth of the Tiber which has considerably changed its course since Roman times.
