SERVICE ABROAD
NEW HOSPITAL UNIT AUCKLANDERS CALLED UP. An additional unit, the No. 3 New land General Hospital, New Zealand Medical Corps, is being formed for inclusion in the Fourth Reinforcements. The names of 30 Aucklanders who have volunteered for service overseas and who are awaiting being called up have been selected from those who have expressed preference for medical work and these have been notified to report at Trentham camp shortly. The names are as follows: J. C. Bates, A. A. Bell, R. Carroll, C. A. Crawford, S. J. Du Bourdieu,
to the Royal N.Z. Air Force, is granted the acting rank of Captain. Lieutenant H. G. Rix, M. 8., Ch.B., attached to the Central District Signal Company, N.Z. Corps of Signals, to be Captain. Lieutenant G. Maclean, M. 8., Ch.B., attached to the 2nd Field Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, to be Captain.
