The following casualties were announced recently: — Flight Lieutenant James Alfred Paterson, killed bn air operations. September 27. Father: Mr. S. B. Paterson, East Chatton Road, Gore. Private Norman George Heads, 23rd Rifle Battalion, died of concussion and laceration, right leg, September 30, 1940. Sister: Mrs. D. Ogilvy, 22a Yarrow Street, Invercargill. A Press Association message from Palmerston North states that advice has been received by Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Witton, Kopane, that their son. Sergeant .Alfred Barnett Witton, R.N.Z.A.F.. has been reported missing.
