Airmen And Soldier

The following air casualties were announced recently : —

Pilot Officer John Fleming, admitted to hospital suffering from injuries as the result of air operations. Mother: Airs. B. S. Fleming. Wellington.

Pilot Officer Kenneth Victor Wendel. killed in air operations. Father: Mr. V. Wendel, Middlemore. Mangere. Auckland.

Pilot Officer Robert Gladstone Hall missing on air. operations. Father: Mr A. W. Hall, Wellington.

The death was also reported of Private Alexander Lindsay Meikle, a member of the Second N.Z.E.F. in Eng land. Mrs. E. Harwell, Orbell Street Timaru. is a .sister.

Pilot Officer Hall is a member of the Maranni Surf and Life-saving Club and was a . member of the team which won the junior six-man rescue and resuscitation championships of New Zealand, the Wellington province, mid the West Coast (North Island) in die 1938-39 season. As a member of the University Swimming Club Im was first home in the Peck Shield harbour race in February; 1939. IL? is a member, of the Wellington College Old Boys' Rugby Football Club.
