A.N.A. CLUB KEPT BUSY
Crowded Attendances At Weekend Dances | There was a “full house” on both Friday and Saturday at the A.N.A. ' Club’s dances for the men of the Forces, the normal attendance being considerably augmented by members of the Merchant Navy service, and both evenings were keenly enjoyed. In addition to the executive and supper committee, the following were the voluntary helpers for the weekend: Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Berendsen, Mr. and Mrs. F. Yates-Jones, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gledhill, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Leicester. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Currie, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Anderson, Mesdames Hamilton, Gilmer, Mears (Hamilton), and Messrs. H. F. O’Leary, and J. H. Luxford. Misses V. Neely and Moya Hempton were in charge of the dancing on Friday night, and Misses Valmai Richardson and Harper Allan on Saturday. A large hamper of suplpies was received from Dr. E. E. Atmore and Mrs. J. N. O’Halloran, on behalf of the Otaki Ladies’ Patriotic Committee.
Holidays are the slacks season for girls. *»* * * Hitler is said to be eating one meal a day as an example to the German public. Other reports say that the German public is eating one meal a day as an example to Goering.
