/Air Force Men Entertain At Barracks The men of the Royal New Zealand Air Force stationed z at Rongotai, Wellington, entertained about 500 goes’?, on Aug. Ist at a -housewarming” social in their new barracks at the Exhibi tion building. The Exhibition As-, sembly Hall was tilled with an appreciative audience for the concert held during the first part of the evening, and later the floor was ? cleared for dancing. A bright programme had been arranged by the entertainment committee, and the display of talent included many items with such humorous titles as * “Hitler’s Umpteenth Speech,” “Ulysses arid his Uke,” and ‘•The Awkward Squad.” Those who took part in the concert were Aircraftmen Kenneddy, Ragg, Hyrid, Whitehouse, Kenning, Todd. Jacobsen, King, Hobbs, Pearce, Williamson, Barrie, Stein, Holmes, Griffiths, Hendon, O’Dell, Walker, Saxton.
The men returned the hospitality of various Wellington clubs which entertain men of the services, and the many guests ) invited were surprised at the elaborate decorations and other preparations made. Encouraged by the success of this initial, effort, the entertainment committee intends to hold more socials of a similar nature.
