New Zealand Pilots The following official casualty list was issued recently : — Pilot Officer Ernest Elliot Howarth, reported missing, believed killed, in air operations on May 27. Moffatt, Hinds, has received cable .advice that his eldest son, Sergeapt Pilot William Michael Fidrance Moffatt; is missing, states a Press ' Association message. Sergeant Pilot Moffatt joined the Royal Air Force in 1932, passing out at the train ing school at Cranwell in 1935. Two months ago he was posted lor coastal ' defence at. Wick-Caithness. He was i married last July. I PRISONER IN GERMANY Advice that her son. Pilot Officer • Robert lan Bernard, recently posted ; as missing, was a prisoner of war in : Germany was received today from the ■ Air Ministry by Mrs. G. Tite, Remuera. The cable stated that information to this effect had been received by the Air Ministry from the. International Red Cross Society. Pilot Officer Bernard entered the business of his uncle as student after leaving Mount Albert Grammar School and was chosen for air force training while on a visit to Australia.
