AUCKLAND BEATS NAVY
2 GOALS TO 1. Soccer in Auckland had its official ick-off on Saturday, April 20, when representative team met and deeated a team from the Navy by two ;oals to one. As a rule the Navy fields ,n excellent team, but this season’s leven is not likely to be as permannt as that of former years, the war aving a decided effect on the composition of the team. On Saturday it /as noticeable that the Navy’s usully dashing and incisive forwards vere not so much in evidence as formrly.
