Ardagh, r Christchurch, to the position of Officer Commanding,the Surgical Division of j rhe Second New Zealand General HosI oital,' with the temporary rank of lieu-tenant-colonel, is announced by Milii Gary Headquarters. 1 Dr. Ardagh served in the Great War 1 of 1914-18 .in the Field Ambulance 1 Division with the rank of captain, and ' had a distinguished career, being ; awarded the D.S.O. and M.C. He was ! again mentioned in dispatches and re- . commended for the V.C. for personal • gallantry in establishing and working 1-n an advanced medical depot which ■ was under shellfire for 36 hours at Crove-Coeur. [ Dr. Ardagh was president of the ( Christchurch branch of the British . Medical Association in 1938, and is a ; member of the Royal Australasian Col- • lege of Surgeons. He will enter camp ; next month.
