N.C.W. EXECUTIVE MEETING
During April, I had the pleasure of representing our W.C.T.U. at the Dominion Executive Meeting of the National Council of Women. From the moment I stepped through the portals of Wallis House in Lower Hutt, a beautiful home given as a memorial to her husband by a fine Anglican lady, I received a warm welcome from Mrs. Horde, the Dominion I’resident, and her officers. Meeting also representatives from other women's organisations and the churches was a joy—it is indeed encouraging to be linked together in a common aim to promote the well-being of our nation and its people. The three clays were busy ones. There were many subjects under discussion and the addresses given by Government officials and representatives were not only interesting, but beneficial and will help us in forming our opinions. Many remits were discussed and those adopted will come forward to us in due course and will be sent on to L^nions. .Our affiliation with the N.C.W. brings a duty to press for social reform in conjunction with the other organisations, who also feel the need for such action. —C. Toomer (Dominion President).
