SOCIAL AFTERNOON

NELSON UNION At the December meeting of the Nelson Union, members and friends were entertained in the Rcchabite Hall. Mrs. Knapp extended a warm welcome to all. A presentation was made to Mrs. Toomer as a token of appreciation to her for having acted as president for them. An entertaining play reading was given by Mesdames Keeble, Wilson, W. Bell and Mrs. Reardon. Solos were sung by Mrs. Geoff Wood, and duets by the Mesdames Hunter, with Miss Tucker as accompanist. Six new members were initiated. A competition for the best flower was won by Miss Holdaway and tor the best vase of flowers, by Mrs. Toomer. Members exchanged Christmas gifts and afternoon tea brought to a close a very happy gathering.
