“THE DEVOTIONAL PERIOD”

All, in Jesus Christ II Corinthians, 3:18. But w'e all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from Glory to Glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord As the years have flown by there lias come, time and again, the call to a deeper consecration to Christ Himself, wilh the sure and certain knowledge that only Jesus can satisfy the human heart. Oh, if God’s dear children everywhere, and those who as yet have not been born again of His Spirit, w-ould realize that Jesus does mean all in all. Books have been written, sermons have been preached, telling how we can walk with Jesus, and live a deeper and more beautiful life here on this earth. As 1 see Him by faith, day by day, so I am changed into His image; the base metal of my life changed, and the whole secret of my happy Christian life lias conic from continually looking to Jesus for love and guidance. Abiding in Jesus for every need is not a state of carelessness, but a faith in His wonderful love that he is able to meet my needs. The helplessness of my extremity is the opportunity for the mightiness of His power to do all things for me. Abiding or reposing, in Jesus is the condition for hearing much fruit. Hear Him, as He stands in the 1 emple on the last great day of the Feast, and cries aloud for all to bear throughout the ages, “If any mar thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink.” W hatever our thirst, whether to know Him as the Saviour, whether for spiritual companionship, or for Victory over sin, He says we are to come to Him and drink, and keep on drinking, until from out of our lives there shall flow rivers of blessing to other thirsty souls here on earth. Happy the heart that has found iis chiefest joy in Jesus, because it will always want to spread joy, sunshine and fragrance of His love around it wherever it may be. You may say that your life is a failure, in spite of your strivings and prayers, but I say, if you take Jesus into your whole life, you will find your life transformed and you will be for ever rejoicing in Him. Jesus, I am resting, resting In the joy of what Thou art. I am finding out the greatness Of Thy Loving Heart. Thou iiast bid me gaze upon Thee, And Thy beauty fills my soul. Prayer: Hea\enly Father, we come once again, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, in prayer, to thank Thee for the many blessings we have received during the past month. And Father, we ask that Thou wilt bless Thy children everywhere and strengthen them during these anxious days, giving them guidance in whatever they may find to do, hecauso yve ask these things in all faith that Thou cans’t and will answer our prayers, as Thou seest best. For lesus Christ’s sake. Amen. A. SHERMAN. (Evangelistic Supt.),
