“Within the Veil"

Mrs, T. A. H. Field Nelson On June 24th at her residence, Port Nelson, one of our oldest and most loyal members passed to her reward. For a great many years, Mrs. Field was a Dominion Officer and w r as well known for her • devoted service in circulating literature and her work in connection with the Domini vi Library. Over 20,000 cards of the Prayer Sigil, by John Oxenham, were distri buted by Mrs. Field. As first president of the Nelson District, she did faithful work, and she was one of the first to receive the 30 years’ badge for service. The funeral service, conducted by the Rev. A. K. Petcli, was deeply impressive, and was largely attended by relatives, friends and W.C.T.U. members.* Mrs. Haddy Upper Hutt There passed on to Higher Service, on July 15th, one of Upper Hutt Union’s most faithful members, Mrs. Haddy, who had been connected with the branch since its formation in 1030. She celebrated her 00th birthday on May 21st last. Although she had resided for some vears with her daughter, Mrs. Clarke, in Maryborough, she still kept up her connection with the Upper Hutt f T nion, and through the “White Rihlion,’’ her interest in the W.C.T.U. w’ork, which she loved, was maintained. She will he greatly missed by members of the Union, for her letters were always so helpful and inspiring, and her enthusiasm in the Cause will ever be remembered. Mrs- Chuck Blenheim In July, there passed to Higher Service, a very faithful member of the Blenheim Union. The late Mrs. Chuck, w-ho celebrated her 01st birthday shortly before her death, had been connected with the Blenheim Union for a great number of vears. Though bed-ridden for the last years of her life, she still retained her mental alertness, and took a keen interest in Temperance and Christian work. Converted while a young girl, she had a great love for her Lord and to the very end, gave a faithful witness to His redeeming power in ihe lives of men and women.
