FIGURES OF VOTING IN ASHBURTON AREA
Mrs. Clark, North Canterbury District President, furnishes the following statement on the voting on six o’clock closing, off-course betting, trust control and restoration. Six o’clock Closing : 30 informal out of 0,826, or 0.3 per cent. Off-course Betting: 84 informal out of 9,827, or 0.85 per cent. Trust Control: 264 informal out of 6.913, or 3.81 per cent. Restoration: 1,165 informal ouC of 6.913, or 1685 per cent. Mrs. Clark says: “These figu r es came before our Executive, and we th<.light you might like to have them. We feel they were brought about by having the two issues on one paper, and a great number of people not exercising sufficient »*are did not notice that the two issues were on the one paper, and voted only on the lower '"lie, Trust Control.
