Two of the “hotels” are straight-out drinking places, being merely bars and lounges for drinking in. They are spoken of as the “pig-troughs.” 9. What do you think of Truat Control veraua “No Licenae"? —Well, what do you think of Liquor versus No Liquor? 10. Vorsua Private Enterpriae?— -ho far, no doubt Trust Control has been preferable to private enterprise—the old “pubs”; but we do not know where it will stop. The Trust has plans to spend an enormous sum on a “luxury” hotel for tourists. They are still awaiting the permit to build a "tavern" in North Invercargill, in the midst of a residential area. Where will they stop? 11. Any other remark*? —The provisions of the Licensing Act are not applicable to the Invercargill Licensing Trust.
