MRS. TRUMAN REFUSED TO HAVE COCKTAILS
The Binghampton (New York) Methodist Church has congratulated I‘resilient Truman’s wife and daughter for their choice of orange juice over cocktails at a recent New’ York City dinner. In reply, Mrs. Truman wrote that she and Margaret were pleased to know that their action had been approved of. Another Methodist Church, in a letter to Mrs. Truman, praised her “courage” in turning down cocktails at a dinner given by the Metropolitan Club in New York.
