WHAT IS MODERATION?
The line between moderation and excess is unknown—cannot he clearly defined. The ability of the average man or woman to practise strict moderation recedes in proportion as alcohol affects his brain centres. His very desire to remain moderate is disorganised, as alcohol “puts to sleep’’ his centres of discrimination.—“ Scientific Temperance Journal, ’ 1944.
