“WHITE RIBBON” REPORT
During the year just closed the “White Ribbon” has faithfully fulfilled its two-fold object: (a) Reports and all official matters given to readers and Unions; (b) Scientific facts concerning the liquor trade and how’ it is at the root of national evils. Also current events have been commented upon. We warmly thank our Dominion President for her monthly letter, the Treasurer for her monthly statement of accounts, and our Corresponding Secretary for reports of organising w’ork and of new members gained. To all reporters we acknowledge our indebtedness, and much appreciate their help. Also we are very grateful to our members who send newspaper clippings of interest from their local papers. We very much regret not being able to spend longer time at Convention Unfortunately the Convention came at a time when the doctor's very emphatic order was “Go slow’.” How could one go slow’ at a 10 days’ Convention ? We thank those who have sent loving messages of sympathy, and am glad to say we are much better, and with the Master’s help hope to wield the pen more efficiently than ever. To my loved helpers, my Assistant Editor and the Business Manager, I say a most emphatic “Thank you.” They have been a tower of strength to me in a time of weakness.
Our thanks are due to our printers. Messrs. Wright & Carman Ltd., for their co-operation. With short staff and paper shortage the position is not easy.
